The Darro river flows through the center of Granada, and actually flows under Plaza Nueva, which is the main gathering point in the city. A walk along the river is very nice, and there are several ancient bridges that cross the river....
Plaza Nueva....the Toro Fountain....an alley of hearts....and an imposing arch...
An interesting historic building that had a brick facade painted on....
Just off Plaza Nueva we found an excellent traditional tapas bar called Antigua Bodega Castaneda. We enjoyed beer, wine, and several tapas....
Iberico and Serrano hams.... |
A happy customer...! |
Not far from Plaza Nueva is Granada Cathedral. It is truly stunning. We even paid 5 euros each for the audio guide. The Cathedral's organ has 4,000 pipes!
4,000 pipes, double-sided... |
