Jerez Wrap-Up.... The Good.... The Bad.... And....
We enjoyed Jerez, but it was a city of contradictions, and it left us a bit conflicted as to our opinion of the place. It is the world center of sherry wine production, and our visit to Tio Pepe was excellent. The other sherry bodegas looked nice, although we didn't tour them. The rest of the city, at least what we saw, was a bit depressing. In fact, other than the sherry bodegas, we didn't take many photos because we just weren't inspired to do so. We saw more than normal graffiti, and the main pedestrian areas were uninspiring.
It was the same situation with our apartment, which was one of several that had been constructed in an unused section of Bodegas Fundador. The concept was excellent, and it was certainly sleek and modern, but problems with vehicle noise and headlights made it difficult to sleep.
So, was Jerez this....
Or was Jerez this....
Or, should we just leave it at this....
